Ferndale
embodies every image ever conjured up by the description "Quaint
Victorian Village"...
|
|
|
| ...a
place with gumdrop trees and the ceilings of the Emporium are Victorian
works of art - where the graves of the town's ancestors overlook the
newcomers and their spirit is still easily felt. |

This
historic Victorian Inn located at the end of Main Street dominates
the block and delights the eyes.

|
This
was just one of my favorite houses.

|
| The
Ferndale Museum
has really neat exhibits - an old switchboard where you can almost
picture the lady operators working - two crank-type telephones that
still work and you can use - and some of the most elaborate miniature
houses I've ever seen. |
| There's
parking for RVs if you go through town on Main Street - follow signs
pointing to parking in the lot on the left. However, I recommend spending
at least a few days exploring this cute little town and surrounding
areas. I camped at Humboldt County
Fairgrounds during my stay there. |
