Usually
I love National Park campgrounds, but honestly, I wasn't too impressed
with Mazama
Campground. Maybe I was too spoiled after staying in Prospect
RV Park, but I'd rather stay in a prettier wooded setting
with full hookups for just about the same price.
I also
checked out a few Rogue River National Forest campgrounds. They
are all about a mile off of Hwy. 62 along rough roads at times with
sites designed for smaller RVs and tents. Info and maps can be found
in this pdf booklet Campground
Guide published by the Forest Service. Farewell
Bend looked like the best of the bunch to me, being suited for
bigger RVs, some sites being on the water but right off the road,
and the camphost was really nice and helpful.

A
scene along the Rim Drive. I couldn't believe how much snow was
still alongside the road in some places in July! No wonder the campground
closes in October.

| Isn't
this a nice relaxing view from the Crater
Lake Lodge veranda? |

Falls was coming down from much higher
up than can be seen from here. Waterfalls are always special treats
to me. |
