Following is info and pictures on the Red-Tail Hawk Loop at Dead Horse Ranch State Park campground in Cottonwood, Arizona.
See Campgrounds Overview for basic info on differences in loops, etc.
See Brochure & Map for park layout.
All 36 sites, including one ADA accessible, have 30/50 amp electric and water. This loop is about 1/2 mile from the entrance. Sites are a bit wider and longer than the older Quail Loop, but there is also less shade due to smaller, less mature trees.
Views of the mountains are especially nice! $30/night. CampsitePhotos.com has photos of every site.
First sites in the loop – #46 and 47. I loved the blooming cactus here!
Sites 54 & 55 showcase the mountain views here.
Site #56 – This large corner pull-through looked like a great choice in this loop.
Row starting with Site #68.
Last row, showing #78 on the left.
Red-Tail Loop and Cooper’s Hawk Loop are adjacent with this trail between them.
