November, 2007 – I liked this park so much during my first visit in September, 2006, I returned on my way back to Austin. Since there were no changes to the new campground at that point, I thought I’d share info on the Village Creek Cabins for those who don’t travel in RVs but still want the natural beauty setting found in this state park. These units also make it nice for family gatherings for groups where some have RVs and some don’t.
This is Cabin #2, the only 3 bedroom unit. Cabin #1 is a barrier-free 2 bedroom that meets the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act with full wheelchair access. There’s even a duplex unit with connecting doors that can accommodate up to 12 people.
The living rooms all have wood burning fireplaces and one bundle of wood is provided with rental. Outside the back door is a really nice porch looking out onto a peaceful woodsy scene.
Some bedrooms have 2 double beds; others have one queen size. All cabins come equipped with linens, towels, etc.
Kitchens are completely equipped with dishes and all appliances.
Here’s the pond on the golf course near hole #9. The 27 hole course was designed by Andy Dye, one of the top course designers in the nation. Plans include a lodge, villas, pro shop, restaurant, meeting room and workout room. What a great all-around destination park! There’s just so much to do here with the equestrian camp, miles of beautiful trails and marina, you could be happily occupied for weeks!
