Casita Travel Trailers – Review Of Model Lineup

Casita Travel Trailers is a company that manufactures and sells a range of travel trailers. Based in Rice, Texas, they have been in business since 1983, and have developed a solid local and regional reputation in that time.

Casita Travel Trailers – Review of Model Lineup

It has even managed to earn an outstanding A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. In this article, we’re going to be looking at their lineup of travel trailers, so you can decide if one of their range is the right fit for you and your needs.

Overview

Casita’s range includes five different models of travel trailer. All five come in two varieties: the standard and deluxe models. The difference between the two is that the standard models can sleep more people, but lack a bathroom.

On the other hand, the deluxe models can sleep fewer people, but use the space saved from that to provide a bathroom, including a shower and a toilet. Each model can also be upgraded with a wide range of add ons.

We’ll talk about those later, but for now, we’ll have a look at the lineup itself.

Spirit

Casita calls this travel trailer “the classic Casita experience”, and it is an excellent, lightweight travel trailer that would suit a family well. The standard model can sleep up to five people, while the deluxe model can sleep up to three.

This is split among two separate sleeping areas, which can both be converted to dinettes. The side dinette is positioned next to the screened picture window to provide you with some wonderful scenery as you enjoy your meal.

It’s also available with two different interior color schemes. The trailer’s construction is durable but lightweight, and it is also insulated to maintain a comfortable temperature inside.

Independence

This model is the same overall size as the spirit, but sleeps slightly fewer people (four if you buy the standard version, two if you buy the deluxe version), meaning that it’s a little more spacious inside.

It has two twin beds which offer an ample amount of under bed storage. These are located very close to the kitchen area, making it easy to get a midnight drink or snack.

The screened windows are operable to allow a large amount of natural light, ventilation and a wonderful view of your surroundings wherever you are.

Heritage

This is Casita’s newest model of travel trailer.  Better suited to larger families than the Independence, the Heritage can accommodate six sleepers in the standard model and four in the deluxe model.

Whichever version you choose, this trailer has double bunk beds with plenty of under storage and the deluxe model even features a wardrobe closet and an AC unit mounted on the roof.

Like the others in the range, it has a solid, lightweight construction that makes it easy to take with you.

Freedom

The Freedom sleeps four in its standard version and two in its deluxe version. Instead of singles or bunk beds, this model comes with a double bed, though the standard version has bunk beds as well. Another great feature is the two swivel chairs that come with this model.

These are positioned near a screen picture window, which creates a calm, relaxing reading area. The standard version features more storage space than the deluxe one

Liberty

This is the most versatile of the range, and can be adapted in a variety of ways. Its two dining areas can be converted into a king-size bed, a double bed, or two smaller single beds.

There are three large screened windows which are all fully operable, allowing for good cross ventilation and an amazing scenic view.

Standard Features

In addition to what we’ve already mentioned, there are several standard features that come with all five models. For example, all of the trailers are fuel efficient because of their construction, which is both lightweight and durable. This also means that they’re easy to move and set up.

Adaptability is key with Casita travel trailers, and all of the company’s models can be adapted inside in various ways for maximum comfort and efficiency.

Add-ons

All five of these models can be further upgraded with many choices from a wide range of additional features. A full list of these can be found here, but we’ll go into some of the most interesting now. The add-ons are divided into interior and exterior.

One of the most basic interior features that you might want to go for is the Casita kit, which is a selection of basic tools that you can use to maintain and repair the trailer.  This includes things like a combination wrench, rivet kit, drive ratchet, and so on.

If you go for the video entertainment package, your trailer will be upgraded with a wall mounted full HD TV.  Not only can this play DVDs and digital files, it also accepts HDMI and various other sorts of cables so you can hook your laptop up to it as well.

Other interior options include a furnace for quick interior heating and a microwave for cooking and heating food.

Moving outside, You might want to consider a solar panel - two different ones are available, allowing you to power the trailer while saving money and making use of renewable energy.

Another great option is a water filter, so that you’ll always have clean, safe water to drink.  This is a particularly great idea if you know you’ll be away from inhabited areas for extended periods of time.

You might also want to try the aluminium-cased patio awning, perfect for creating a nice bit of shade for yourself to sit outside in.  This is far from all, so make sure to check out the full list on Casita’s website.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a travel trailer, then Casita is a great company to consider.  Their entire range of five travel trailers is of very good quality, and many choices of trailer and their adaptability mean that regardless of your specific needs, they’ll offer something that should suit you.

Whether you’re a couple going on a romantic getaway alone or a large family going on a family excursion, Casita has you covered.
