Tennessee was my destination for the summer of 2013, mainly because I wanted to fully explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Silly me thought I could actually do that in one summer.
After one trip around Cades Cove, though, I knew there was no way I would be ready to leave that soon! I wound up spending a whole year in the GSMNP area because I wanted to see it in all seasons. And I still had things I wanted to see when it was time to head south for holidays with the family.
Natchez Trace Parkway – I began this trek southbound in October 2014 and enjoyed my last sights in Tennessee for a while here.
Fall Creek Falls State Park had some of the prettiest waterfalls I’ve ever seen.
Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in Gatlinburg was always a treat no matter what time of year. But this scene by the old mill is my favorite when the rhododendron were in full bloom.
I saw so much here I didn’t have time to write about most of it. But what I did, you can see linked on the right. There’s so much to see in this area, you could go crazy!
