(30/50 amp site on Flora Blvd. north side)
I enjoyed visiting with Greg Johnson here. He does “A Tribute to Elvis” and entertains in other venues around town, but also here at the park periodically. He said he really likes to camp here due to the large sites with much more room between them than other parks.
(30-50 amps on Flora Blvd. north side)
Here is where the Signature Sites begin on this side. They all have larger concrete pads and shade trees, as well as closer access to the Little Pigeon River.
I met this great family from nearby Rogersville here. Roger and Rita (and family) camp here every month and say they have tried other campgrounds but this is the only place for them now. They always try for the Signature Sites due to the larger all-concrete pads, easy back-in and access to the river.
They all seemed to be enjoying themselves and I had fun visiting with them. In general, they like the staff here who “will bend over backward to help if you have any problems” and they feel like family by now. They also appreciate the immaculate bathhouses and larger sites with more space between them than any other park they’ve seen. They enjoy the nearby activities, Dollywood and musical shows. Their favorite is Cades Cove for connecting to nature and the Titanic Exhibit for its fascinating history.
Also Signature Sites, but these corner ones are among the most requested due to backing up directly on the river.
This Signature Site is the most requested site. It’s largest and backs up right to the river with a good amount of space between it and the next site which begins the regular Riverfront sites starting with #401. The family in #15 said this is their favorite site, but that it is hard to get sometimes, even when they try 10 months out (the soonest you can book ahead).

Sites 156-168 all pull-thrus (30/50 Amp)
On Volunteer Way (all 30/50 amp)
On Conner Court (all 30/50 amp)
Site 195 is adjacent to the Pet Area on this side
On Lynn Street (all 30/50 amp)
All sites on this row are pull-thru – looking onto Hale Street
Site 223 (Me)
On Hale Street (all 30/50 Amp)
This newer section has less mature trees, but I didn’t mind, especially since I got excellent DirecTV reception and the temps here in TN are not nearly as hot as my home state, TX.
On Flora Blvd. south side (Riverfront – 30/50 amp)
Signature Sites on Flora Blvd., south side – all Riverfront sites are most requested, but this side is requested a lot due to length of sites and large backyard area before you get to river.
Sites CC1-4 are adjacent to the Conference Center and are designated as Signature Sites due to their popularity for being fully paved and close to the pool (as well as proximity to the Conference Center for rallies).
Other Camper Comments:
Glen & Nellie (Site 1) – From nearby Rogersville, TN
Likes: quiet, staff are extra nice and accommodating, security patrol helps keep speed limit enforced, enjoys all the nearby shows.
Tammy (Site 163) – from Ohio
She said she and hubby have always loved this campground – they have visited here every summer and Thanksgiving for years. They like how it’s convenient to Parkway but set far enough back so no traffic noise. Also the “sweet, genuine people here.”
Melissa, Travis, Joshua & Jaidyn (4 yr. old twins) – from Mars Hill, NC
I ran into this family at a lot of pavilion events and always enjoyed visiting with them and their precious twins. Mom and Dad appreciate the park’s good family activities. Joshua said he likes to ride his bike and the playground and pool. Jaidyn told her teacher she was going “tamping” – I always wish I could have gone “tamping” as a child, too, Jaidyn!
