May 2011 – I only intended to pass through this state on the way to Michigan and really didn’t have any plans for extended exploration, but couldn’t resist once I got here.
Point Pleasant is the only town I have spent any time in so far, so see the links on the right for the places I visited there.
Tu-Endie-Wei State Park is home to an 84-foot granite monument commemorating the frontiersmen who fought and died in the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant. The Battle of Point Pleasant has been recognized as the first battle of the American Revolutionary War by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
For my stay in Point Pleasant, I stayed at Krodel City Park Campground – very convenient and great folks!
Point Pleasant was a very pleasant stop and a fun place to walk around, both the Riverfront Park and the cute little Main Street.
And yes, I did spot The Mothman!
